The centre which is sited at the Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna, Kaduna State of Nigeria focuses at harnessing and developing the durbar performance into a viable cultural and tourism industry translating into socio-economic empowerment of the stakeholders and interest groups. As an intellectual resource centre, it attracts scholastic enquiry and exchange on the associated arts, history, chivalry and power dynamics of the durbar in Nigeria with emphasis on comparative analysis of durbar traditions within and outside Nigeria and the African continent. Apparently when the centre is fully developed it shall serve as a hub for Durbar industry not only in Nigeria, but Africa in general. |
