NCAC Honours Lecture / Awards.
The NCAC Honours Lecture aims at Celebrating Nigerian culture by recognizing, acknowledging and paying homage to identified personalities that have contributed in the development of our collective heritage which have impacted on our national life as a people and as a nation.
Thus, the NCAC Honours lecture is a celebration of our culture par excellence; a recognition of distinction and creativity in specific, aspects of human endeavour viz: bringing to the fore, the virtues of creativity and its impetus and contributions to meaningful and sustainable development in Nigeria.
Planned as an unusual event, each lecture will draw from various walks of life as well as feature scholars from the academia, Captains of industry, Economic Experts, Diplomats and stakeholders in the Culture Sector. It will also take into cognizance the values of our culture, which promote creativity, hard work, communal efforts, good governance, understanding and peace and other attributes, which are necessary and meaningful for our advancement as a nation.
Initiated in 2000, the lecture series has featured six distinguished Nigerians as Honoured Lecturers: Professor V.C. Uchendu (2000); Dr. Christopher Kolade (2001); Dr. Aisha Madawaki Isah (2002), Professor Alagoa (2003), Prof. David Adamu Baike CON (2006) and Prof. Dele Layiwola (2007).
