National Festival Of Arts And Culture (NAFEST)

This is one of our regular programmes designed to bring to the fore the best of our cultural heritage in the areas indigenous music/dance, art and crafts, Drama, textiles and design, traditional games, cuisines, architecture, Durbar, Masquerade, Boat Regatta etc. NAFEST, which is also termed the Unity Forum, is an annual event. Each festival treats a topical theme of national interest. In addition to specific targets for each year, the general objectives of the festival include:

1. To promote social cohesion, understanding and national unity;
2. To effectively utilize our cultural industry for economic development;
3. To promote talent hunt and develop creativity where stars will emerge from the industry and
4. To evolve and develop a strong and virile Nigerian culture.

This festival is unique and stands out one of the major National Festivals that unites the nation as well as creates a forum for talent hunt in the area of arts and Culture.  So far we had held the 21st edition Watch out for the 22nd edition coming up from the 6th to 12th October, 2008.
