The National Culture Quiz Competition For Secondary Schools In Nigeria
This is designed to inculcate among our youths the knowledge of their history, culture, values and traditional  norms that have endeared our societies over the years and are worthy of sustenance and promotion for our developmental needs.  It is an exciting experience as students from diverse background gather to learn and exchange ideas about Nigerian rich cultural heritage.  This is one of the means through which our future generation shall carry on with our culture and national identity.

OBJECTIVES:
The National Culture Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools aims at:

  • Inculcating an appreciation of Nigerian Culture into youths of the nation especially in these days of globalization.

  • Sustaining the process of enriching interest of Nigerian culture and its diversity among the youths.

  • Engaging youths in learning about the cultural heritage of other parts of Nigeria

  • Promoting creative inter-relationship and cultural ties on the platform of the programme.

  • Diffusing the cultural strength of our collective heritage to the younger ones in the bid to Catch-them-Young.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

The National Culture Quiz Competition:

  • Is open to all students in private and public secondary schools in Nigeria

  • Students will participate on the platform of their respective States through the State Council for Arts and Culture History and Culture Bureaux

  • States will conduct their own selection processes.

  • 2 students will represent each State at the Zonal Elimination series to be conducted by the National Council for Arts and Culture.

  • A Grand Finale will comprise of not more than six (6) States selected at the Zonal Elimination contest and representing the six geo-political zones of the country.

Participating students are to be accompanied by one (1) adult handler.

QUESTION DATA BANK
Each State is expected to send at least 20 questions about their peculiar cultural manifestations to the Secretariat. This is to create a pool from which questions at the zonal/Grand Finale may be drawn.
The question will be accompanied by the names and bio-data of the representatives of each state.

The Council has successfully conducted three editions of the National Culture Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools.
